Original UK home market example, BFX 322B was supplied by Whellers Limited of Yeovil on the 27th August 1964 to its 1st custodian Michael Frampton of Beaminster, An engineer by profession Mr Frampton had taken the Cooper S off the road in 1973 until he passed away in 2012, the Mini was showing just 24,894 miles but required restoration and the car was acquired by highly respected Concours Award winning Mini specialist Nippy Cars of Burnham-on-Sea directly from the Frampton family and sold to its 2nd custodian Mr Smart who commissioned an exacting photographic 550 hour restoration to original factory specification retaining the original body shell/engine/gearbox and seat trim (New reclining seats were fitted to preserve the originals)
Freshly out of restoration BFX 322B went on to win 1st place Concours at the 2013 Brooklands Double Twelve Mini 50th Anniversary event. In January 2014 a post-restoration article featuring BFX 322B was run in ‘Classic Cars’ Magazine and was noticed by Michael Frampton’s step-son which prompted him to kindly make contact with Mr Smart. After a telephone conversation he typed a letter detailing the history he knew of the car and enclosed a period photographs
