Equipped with Opening windscreen, Dynamo, Hydraulic brakes, Trafficators (Working !), "Waterfall" grille, Rare original Midland radiator cover

Purchased new on the 1st September 1948 from Cambridge Morris agent King & Harper by Mr D. Harris for the sum of 371.61d and issued with its Cambridge registration number of GVE 208, The Morris was only ever used as a weekend hobby car hence only covering just 21,600 miles before passing into the custodianship of its 2nd owner in 1974 to Mr P.J Brown of Romford, Essex. In 1985 with just 22,162 miles GVE 208 passed to Mr Brown’s nephew Mr John Strelitz of Romford who continued fastidiously with its maintenance and originality,. The engine/gearbox/rear axle & ancillaries are original and have never been removed from the car since new ! The starter & dynamo are still stamped “May 1948” ! Whilst in Johns 34 year ownership GVE 208 has won of over 90 awards including Best pre 1960 Classic Saloon at the Classic Car show at Alexandra Palace, Best Series E at the Morris Register National Rally at Stanford Hall, Winner of the Giles Watling Cup (Former sitcom star, Oswald the Vicar from the 80’s smash TV series “Bread”). Exhibited at the NEC Birmingham Classic Car Show, Olympia Classic Car World and BBC Top Gear show at the NEC Birmingham. GVE 208 dominated the 80’s/90’s concourse circuit including Benson & Hedges and Meguiars concours events. GVE 208 has also been featured in many Newspaper articles and both Classic Cars & Practical Classics Magazine. GVE 208 was selected by Simoniz Polish to promote their products and became the famous Simoniz Morris 8. Pathfinder Models even commissioned a handbuilt 1/43 scale model of GVE 208 !
